US 2012

A country decides

November 7, 2012

2000 votes to decide Florida

With the whole election being labelled too close to call, Florida looks to be one of the closest state votes of the lot. In this crucial stage there are only 2000 votes between republican and democrat votes. Some networks are indicating a slight sway towards Romney, others saying the vote leans to Obama. The votes will undoubtedly be recounted numerous times, so the country waits with baited breath for a decision, which probably won’t present itself until the early hours of Wednesday morning. The long queues for the polls will further draw out this process, with those who were queuing when polls closed would still be able to vote, thus the verification and counting process would take even longer. These 29 electoral votes have proved pivotal to the 2000, 2004, and 2008 elections, and in 2012, it looks to be no different.
